The Rose and the Dagger-
Renee Ahdieh

The Rose and the Dagger Review

In the sequel to The Wrath and the Dawn, Khalid and his country are in danger and Shazi will do anything she can to protect them both. After leaving Rey, she finds out that her father had betrayed her and she sees just how far he is willing to go for the power that he feels he deserves. But Shazi is a fighter, and she will fight as long as she can for her country and for the people she loves.
I absolutely adored the first novel of these 2. It captured my heart and I was so excited to read the next. And for the most part, this novel was excellent as well. My only complaint is that it felt so rushed. There was so much packed into these 400+ pages that could have easily been enlongated and made into another book. I felt that the resolution and ending were so abrupt that it left me very disatisfied. Other than that, I love the characters in these novels and would definitely reach for them again.
